Marc Aroner Bamboo Fly Rod 6' 2/2 #1/2A Marc Aroner custom bamboo fly rod, 6', 2 piece, 2 tip and built for a #1 or #2. This rod was specially commissioned from me in the early 1990's. Mint condition. The rod features a swelled butt and extremely fine tips (. 040"). It has a snake guide for the stripper and pot belly micro step ferrules. The blonde cane is done in a three up node pattern. The varnish is perfect. The wraps are a dark copper color. The ferrules and hardware are polished

deep black Type III anodized finish with matte reliefs

with one of them replaced

The reel has many characteristics of the Hardy Brass Face Perfect of course

Maker" stamped into it

It is straight overall and the ferrule fits are good (though one of the tips has a very slight outward sweep to it from the ferrule being mounted slightly offcenter)

All original Payne silks and hardware were used in the restoration

What makes this rod scarce and "special" is the tapered walnut end cap with the pinned aluminum pocketed butt cap

95%+ of the leaded finish intact as well as most of the original lacquer that coated the leaded finish
